Terms and Conditions for Participation in Sunday Basketball Scrimmage Sessions

Welcome to the Pirates Basketball Club’s Sunday Basketball Scrimmage Sessions (the “Sessions”) held at Erindale Leisure Centre. By participating in these Sessions, you agree to the following terms and conditions. Please read them carefully.


1. Acceptance of Terms

Participation in the Sessions is voluntary and is subject to these Terms and Conditions. By participating, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these terms.

2. Eligibility

Participants must be at least 16 years of age or older. Participants under 18 must have parental or guardian consent.

3. Assumption of Risk

Participation in basketball activities involves inherent risks, including but not limited to physical injury, illness, or property damage. Participants engage in the Sessions at their own risk and acknowledge that they are responsible for their own safety and well-being.

4. No Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Pirates Basketball Club, its organisers, volunteers, and staff shall not be liable for any injuries, death, loss, or damage to property, or any other claim, arising out of or in connection with participation in the Sessions, including but not limited to:

  • Injuries sustained during play or practice
  • Property damage or loss
  • Any other incident or accident occurring during the Sessions

This waiver of liability applies to the greatest extent permitted by law even if such injury or damage results from negligence, breach of duty, or breach of statutory duty by the Pirates Basketball Club or its personnel.

5. Participant Responsibility

Participants agree to:

  • Acknowledge that these Sessions are social in nature and that participation should be conducted in a respectful and friendly manner
  • Be physically fit and medically capable of participating in the Sessions
  • Follow all instructions and rules provided by organisers and staff
  • Use appropriate safety equipment where necessary
  • Respect fellow participants, organisers, and property

6. Health and Safety

Participants are responsible for their own health and safety. If feeling unwell or injured, participants must refrain from participating and seek appropriate medical attention.

7. Code of Conduct

Participants are expected to conduct themselves in a respectful manner, promoting a safe and enjoyable environment for all. Any misconduct may result in removal from the Sessions without refund.

8. Photography and Recording

Participants consent to photography, video, and audio recording during the Sessions for promotional and organisational purposes unless they notify otherwise in writing.

9. Personal Data

Personal information collected will be used solely for the administration of the Sessions and in accordance with the Australian Privacy Act 1988.

10. Changes to Terms

The Pirates Basketball Club reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions at any time. Participants will be notified of significant changes.


Acknowledgment and Agreement

By participating in the Sessions, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms and Conditions, including the waiver of liability and assumption of risk provisions.
